Fostering Slough

The Slough children who need fostering

In Slough, the children who need fostering are predominantly:

  • Sibling groups of younger children
  • Children age 9+ who need short term placements
  • Children age 9+ who need long term/ permanent placements
  • Teenagers who need to remain with foster carers until they reach independence
  • Children who have mild and moderate level learning difficulties
  • Children who have more complex disabilities
  • Parent and Child Placements (Usually mother and child- occasionally a new father and child)

Becoming an fp.c foster carer in Slough

We are currently working to ensure that there are  sufficient foster carers in the Slough to meet the need of every Slough child who needs a foster placement. This is an important goal because local placement allows children to continue at existing schools, retain contact to friends and family and facilitate the child's eventual return home, if this is appropriate. There is currently a very significant short fall of foster carers of all kinds in Slough.  If you live in Slough and would like more information about fostering, please let us know by telephoning or completing and enquiry form below and we will be pleased to help.
