  Financial Arrangements
All of our approved foster carers receive a professional fee in recognition of their skills and effort and a child maintenance allowance for each child placed with them.

The level of the weekly child maintenance allowance varies according to the age of each child placed. The overall payment scheme seeks to recognise the valuable, professional level contribution made by each of our foster carers. In general terms, our carers receive between £300 to £430 per child per week - depending on their skills level and the age of the child in placement.

The Income Tax arrangements relating to foster care payments have recently been revised and are now more generous than ever. In practice, most foster carers pay very little or no income tax on the income that they receive from their fostering activities. Further details of our fostering allowance scheme will be made available on request.
