Last Saturday we held a Fun Day in Oxford for our foster carer families. Beccy, one of our foster carers, gave some really lovely feedback:
'Thank you so much for another fantastic fun day. We love coming to the fun days and familyplacement.com events as it gives us a chance to speak to other foster carers and staff within the agency who we wouldn't usually meet in training and practice meetings.
The fun day itself was brilliant! There was a good range of activities; our foster child particularly enjoyed the lego, glitter tattoos and the climbing wall. Our foster child has Autism and Global learning delay, we'd not tried a climbing wall with her before but now she has had a go and enjoyed it, we are thinking of making this a regular activity for her.
The venue was very accessible and a great space for the children to explore and enjoy the outdoor activities, thankfully the weather was glorious for us!
The 'Swap it Shop' is a really good idea, we have accumulated so many children's items; it's a great way to refresh our cupboards with a range of different toys, books, games and clothes.
And of course, the BBQ and cakes were a huge hit with the children (and carers)...compliments to the chef!
Looking forward to the next one!'
