We are actively recruiting foster carers in Wiltshire. If you live in Wiltshire and are thinking of fostering, we really want to hear from you.
We are actively recruiting additional Wiltshire based foster carers to meet the ongoing need for foster placements for Wiltshire children. We regularly review the need for foster carers in each area to make sure that there is a sufficient pool of available carers to enable children needing foster care to be placed local to their existing schools and family and friends.
The need for more foster carers in Wiltshire
We are preferred provider of foster placements for Wiltshire and other neighbouring local authorities.
In Wiltshire, we particularly need carers who can provide foster placements for:
- Sibling groups of younger children
- Children age 9+ who need short and long term placements
- Children age 9+ who need long term/ permanent placements
- Teenagers who need to remain with foster carers until 18
- Parent and child placements (Usually a mother and a new baby)
Local Support and links with other carers
Our Wiltshire foster carers are supported by locally based social workers. Our Wiltshire foster carers meet up regularly with other Wiltshire based foster carers at locally based support group meetings and training events
Our work with Wiltshire and the need for local foster placements
We are currently working closely with our local authority colleagues in Wiltshire to ensure that there are sufficient foster carers in the Wiltshire area to meet the need for local placements. This is an important goal because local placement allows children to continue at existing schools, retain contact to friends and family and in the longer run it can facilitate arrangements for a child to return to their family where this is the right plan for the child .
if you think you might be able to help us achieve this important goal of ensuring there is a good foster home available locally for every child that needs one, we will be very pleased to hear from you
