Who can foster?
fp.c foster carers are people who like spending time with children and have a genuine interest in meeting their needs and promoting their welfare.
They come from all walks of life and all ethnic backgrounds. Some are married, some are single. Some of them are renting their homes, others are buying. Some of them still have children at home. Some are individuals who's own children have now grown up and left home.
There a lot of myths about who can and cannot foster. Most of them are without foundation in reality. For example, lot of people think you cannot foster beyond a certain age, where as, in practice, at fp.c we do not have an upper age limit for applicants. Individuals simply need to enjoy reasonably good health and be sufficiently fit and active to be able to meet children's needs.
If you have queries about your individual personal or family circumstances, please let us know and we will be very happy to assist you.
